Win a first prize of £3000, a second prize of £1500, and a third prize of £500.

So how will the winners be decided〉 Once tracks are uploaded, power lies with the public. People can listen and download as few or as many tracks as they like. Downloading begins on Thursday 1st March and closes on Thursday 19th April. The most popular tracks, based on downloads, will then be shortlisted and from Friday 20th to Friday 27th April an online STV election will be held to identify the three winners. Every download counts so get online, decide what you like and what you don't, start the debate and make your choices.

The rules of democrazy 2007 are simple

1. All entrants must reside in Scotland.

2. All songs uploaded must have social/political theme or message.

3. Signed acts are welcome to participate but only unsigned acts or those who are not signed to major labels will be eligible for prizes.

4. Any swearing should be declared and given an 'explicit lyrics' caution.

5. A band artist may wish to upload more than one track but cannot win more than one prize.

The organisers of Democrazy 2007 reserve the right to refuse or remove entries that are deemed inappropriate. The decision of the organisers is final.
